A yellow orange dahlia fills the frame. Moisture glistening on its outer petals. Its orange center glowing like the sun. Its yellow corona shining in the suns rays.

"You Fill My Soul with Sunshine" by David Harris.

You fill my soul with sunshine
my heart with tender care.
You fill my world with happiness
knowing that you are always there

Every waking hour
is filled with your love
that I feel I’ve been blessed
with an angel from above

There are no words enough
to express the way I feel
knowing that this heart
will never feel no ill.

This old world may go on,
being crazier every day.
However, I have the inner warmth of knowing
you fill my soul with sunshine each and every day.

Two peach colored dahlias in the summer. The last of mine for that year. New paths and New periphery waiting for exploration.

Poem titled "Remember" by Christina Georgina Rossetti

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

A large peach white dahlia blooms inthe frame. Specks of dew still hanging on.

Poem by
Dorothy Parker titled "Transition"

Too long and quickly have I lived to vow
The woe that stretches me shall never wane,
Too often seen the end of endless pain
To swear that peace no more shall cool my brow.
I know, I know- again the shriveled bough
Will burgeon sweetly in the gentle rain,
And these hard lands be quivering with grain-
I tell you only: it is Winter now.

What if I know, before the Summer goes
Where dwelt this bitter frenzy shall be rest?
What is it now, that June shall surely bring
New promise, with the swallow and the rose?
My heart is water, that I first must breast
The terrible, slow loveliness of Spring.

A yellow dahlia close to white in the last sun of autumn.

Poem included for the New Year's Eve, "Starting A New Life" By Jessica Lee Workman

starting a new life,
change the way i felt,
taking step by step,
dont want to look back to change the world in pack,
staring a life,
dont want to go back,
always trying to take a step forward,
looking at the positive in life,
starting a life over,
taking a chance more then once or twice,
learning from my mistakes once again,
staring it over,
and not look back,
staring it over again

A dahlia and a bud share the frame. The blooming one looks as if it is protecting the bud.

Quote by Shell Silverstein included.
"Once i spoke the language of the flowers,Once i undrestand each word the caterpillar said,Once i smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings."

AS pink dahlia stares straight at the camera. The sun radiating off the petals as it stretches for the day.

Poem included Titled "Staring Girl" by Timothy Walter Burton>

I once knew a girl
who would just stand there and stare.
At anyone or anything,
she seemed not to care

She'd stare at the ground,

She'd stare at the sky.

She'd stare at you for hours,
and you'd never know why.

But after winning the local staring contest,

she finally gave her eyes
a well-deserved rest.
