#DannyKirwan was one of the best British blues guitarists going.
Had he not been in the same band as #PeterGreen, in #FleetwoodMac, who was absolutely THE BEST, Kirwan would have been so much more revered.

Peter Green’s support of #dannykirwan backfired. Not only did the band drive him to mental illness but, by getting him to write his own lyrics and sing them, his songs were critically weakened. Most contain the ghosts of far greater songs. His without words or those of others are so strong. #blues 🧵
And since we're on the subject, this is one of my 2 favorite post-Green, pre-Buckingham/Nicks #FleetwoodMac songs. Peter's protege #DannyKirwan wrote it (I think) and is playing lead guitar here. I don't think it was ever on an album--just the B-side of a 45. And there's #ChristineMcVie.

GREEN MANALISHI is the one song from the early Mac which is anything but straight ahead blues rock.
It's an "interesting tangent".
