Sonoma expected to renew Flock Safety contract for automatic license plate readers The move would continue the city’s use of 16 fixed cameras in Sonoma, which are used by the police department as a law enforcement tool, for three more years.

The Sonoma City Council meets at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 30 in City Council Chambers, 177 First St. West.

Troy police disable Flock cameras’ national search tool amid outcry Deputy Chief Steven Barker noted in an email that the decision was made “collectively” as city officials “continue to collect feedback from the public regarding this ongoing resource.”

The Troy Police Department had claimed for weeks that Troy’s Flock data was not being shared outside the Collar City’s borders. Turns out they turned off Flock’s national network just last week.
