Meet Kellie, your #DeafLGBTQWeek Art Challenge host! Kellie Martin (@kelliemartinart) is an nonbinary artist, art director, thespian and activist dedicated to uplifting Deaf and marginalized communities through art and storytelling. As the business owner of Kellie Martin Art, they create and sell original artwork, paintings, prints, shirts, and stickers, while also curating exhibitions and facilitating creative workshops. With over a decade of experience in the art nonprofit sector, Kellie has worked extensively in community engagement, accessibility, and advocacy. They is Art & Design Program Director at Deaf Spotlight for seven years in Seattle, Washington. Their work explores themes of identity, mental health, resistane and the interplay between internal and external worlds, aiming to inspire connection, empowring self-expression to. In addition to their artistic practice, Kellie actively fights for equity, language access, and representation, using their platform to amplify Deaf and disabled voices and challenge systemic barriers. After nearly 40 years of service to the Deaf LGBTQ communities (30 of those specifically with DQRC), Drago is hoping to finally retire this year. With this final character update, this fun logo series is now complete; every character in the logo has been replaced once since the logo’s inception in 2018.
