A winter-themed graphic with snow-covered pine trees framing the image. Large icy blue text reads “2026” with snowflakes falling across a soft blue background. Above it says “Happy New Year,” and below reads “From Echoes in Motion” alongside a green hand logo, symbolizing ASL and movement.

New year, new stories, new movement.

Ladies and gentlemen, what you're about to see was my first paid gig! Might not be my best, but at least it got to appear on-stage in a sign language play!

It's my birthday today! It was a good day. BTW, I donated $25 to the National Theatre of the Deaf (@NatlTheatreDeaf). I would love it if you could donate, too.

I gave to support their ongoing historical preservation and digitization efforts. ntd.org/donate/ #DeafTheatre

We are grateful for Marceau himself, and for his influence on Bragg, who would go on to co-found the National Theatre of the Deaf with others who shared a vision for a national #DeafTheatre.

Phyllis is no longer with us, and we are forever grateful for her incredible presence and immeasurable impact on American #theatre and #DeafTheatre

In the photo here, you can see Phyllis in her first Broadway appearance as Polly Garter in “Songs from Milk Wood,” with Lou Fant, who played Captain Cat. The play was directed by J Ranelli, adapted by Bernard Bragg and Dorothy Miles, and opened at the ANTA Theatre on January 10, 1970. #DeafTheatre

We celebrate Phyllis Frelich today, born on February 29, 1944. Phyllis was one of the founding company members and a mainstay of NTD through its first 12 years. She left NTD to play Sarah Norman in “Children of a Lesser God,” becoming the first deaf actress to win a Tony for her work. #DeafTheatre

ID: Two white males standing and saluting against a backdrop of painted soldier figures. One on the left is clad in military uniform and a helmet and is saluting using his hand, and the other wears an artist’s smock and beret, saluting with a paintbrush. In the back is a painting of a clock in the eleventh hour.

Did you know? Famed deaf artist Chuck Baird was also a phenomenal storyteller and acted with the NTD over a decade.

Although no longer with us, Chuck lives on in our memories, his stories, and the art he created. He would have been 78 years old today, on February 22, his birthday. #DeafTheatre
