One of my favorite hiking paths on the west side of Death Valley, especially in the morning. Love the colors of the different rock formations under a brilliant blue sky. A narrow path winds through a rocky desert landscape leading up to a line of rocky hills, under a blue sky with a few clouds overhead.

Yours truly taken at Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley with mountains and distant storm clouds to the east. The Valley floor is at sea level or below and is very fine sand (in some places like flour) from all of the wind blown dust. I badly need a shower after a week of hiking/running/hiding from storms, but it'll have to wait till Monday 🙂😬

It's been a stormy week in Death Valley, but my fingers are crossed for a sunny weekend to close out my trip. Today was good, had rain & hail this am, cleared up and did a nice 8 mile run this afternoon, and turned into a pretty evening. I'll take it 🙂
