I have a personal vendetta against another introduced feral vine that does the same thing a different way, #Desmodium uncinatum. Photographed hundreds of bugs dead on it. I hate it so much. Its everywhere and no one cares the damage it does because cows like to eat it.

I remain in awe of #Desmodium uncinatum, the silverleaf desmodium's ability to slaughter insects on a massive scale. Its something no one here pays any attention to, but I cannot help myself and often stop to see what it is catching today. Some fly victims to get us started.
The horror of #velcro vine #Desmodium uncinatum, extends to such odd victims as #isopods, that are not usually one for exploring vines.

Fresh victims of #Desmodium uncinatum or silverleaf desmodium. This sticky velcro vine originally imported for farmers to use as fodder for cows. It spread to cover countless fields in Australia. Each vine over its life will capture and starve many animals like insects, spiders, frogs and lizards.

A pale pink sage-like flower with darker pink markings along the bottom petal. The flower is just above a small serrated leaf, and other flower buds are above and to the sides of the main flower.

ISmall white orchid flowers sprout from a slender vertical green stem.

The front of the pink pea-like flower which has 2 vertically oblong greenish-yellow spots rising on either side of the keel.

the dark green narrow, trifoliate leaves with a lighter green central vein.
The pale green seed pods comprised of triangular shaped segments which break off easily. The seeds are covered with tiny hairs which adhese to anything passing by, an animal, or in my case, pants!
