A painterly protest scene set in a reclaimed urban garden in Detroit. Five diverse individuals stand side by side holding a handmade banner that reads “NO KINGS.” From left to right: a white man in union gear representing UAW; a Black man wearing a shirt or colors that nod to Nigerian pride; a young Arab woman in a hijab, fierce and focused; a mid-30s Latina woman with strong posture; and a younger Black man in hip-hop style standing near a stacked milk crate. Behind them, Detroit’s cityscape rises faintly. A plastic water jug sits near the group. The style is textured, emotional, and grounded — a portrait of Detroit’s living defiance.

Detroit Rising.

From the factory floor to the dance floor —
from union halls to backyard gardens —
we don’t kneel, and we don’t forget.

NO KINGS.
