El pasado 4 de febrero, Pedro Sánchez volvió a erigirse en líder de la lucha contra los abusos de las grandes empresas tecnológicas, las big tech, al definir las redes sociales como “un estado fallido en el que los algoritmos distorsionan el debate público y nuestros datos e imágenes son pirateados y vendidos”. En paralelo a discursos como este, Sánchez mantiene a la sociedad española privada de uno de los elementos clave de la DSA: un coordinador de servicios digitales adecuadamente dotado de competencias. En este caso se trata de la Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC), que debería actuar como autoridad en la supervisión y ejecución de la Ley, pero que sigue esperando a la aprobación de la reforma legislativa que necesita para poder ejercer los poderes que le otorga su nuevo estatus. En resumidas cuentas, el reglamento se aplica en España a nivel normativo, pero no tenemos un organismo que vele por la aplicación práctica de las garantías que este proporciona a la ciudadanía.

They arbitrary censor users, they push agendas, they avoid accountability.

That is why they hate the EU’s #DigitalServicesAct —it's forcing companies to assess and thereby admit(!!) the societal risks of their algorithms for 450M Europeans.
