Daytime scene on an avenue of a special City at wintertime, where there is very little traffic because it is morning and this avenue goes one way - away from the centre of the borough; in the evening, traffic can be very heavy here at rush hour, especially when the nearby expressway is blocked or closed; there is a small, dirty, melting snowbank along the sidewalk and there is a standing white and hot pink sign for a laundromat which reads "Lux Laundry - Fast - Easy" and looks as if it has been buried in the snow all month; it has someone's cute tag written on it; the advertised qualities are very much valued in a laundromat but, although the sign is here, the actual business is nowhere to be found; it is a mystery; the street is very salty from the wintry weather; across the street, a city bus waits at the intersection, and some pedestrians begin crossing the street; along with other (literally) small businesses and restaurants, there is decent bodega over there and the guys working there are pretty cool, as is their cat; a mix of old mid-rise and new high-rise residential buildings surround the scene and the sky in the distance is blue with fluffy white clouds.

Nighttime scene on a sidewalk in an enchanted City during winter, facing from behind a pile of dirty snow towards the storefront of a small business that is currently closed; the building is one of the smallest commercial structures in the City and dates back to nineteen-ten, with its brightly painted red brick exterior with the simple word "Cleaner" painted above the door in a block-style font, and the original white frieze detail, which is unusually large for the small building, which is attached to a larger building built around the same time; the silver rollup doors of the dry cleaning business appear to have been repainted many times - likely due to rollup doors being a favorite canvas of local graffiti writers; the adjacent buildings are residential apartments and co-ops, with lighted windows casting an amber glow on the scene; interestingly, above the small dry cleaning business, there is a long range view of at least two blocks where a tall, high-rise building stands tall with some of its lights on as well; it is a very densely-populated and densely-built neighborhood, so being able to see a building in the distance is rare and must mean that there is some construction happening on the blocks between.

Daytime scene on a cold winter morning in a historic city, facing across a street during a break in traffic, at the dark forest green construction wall surrounding a very large development lot; they will build the tallest building that they are allowed, because this location is prime and the taller the developers can build, the more money the building generates; all around the vacant lot, there is a general history of this neighborhood's buildings - from the basic, 6-story brick apartment buildings dating to the early twentieth century - to tall high-rise condominiums with notes of the sixties, seventies, eighties, and nineties in their designs; all across the plywood construction wall, advertising posters are freahly plastered and selling all types of things, some of which is difficult to understand; one such poster resembles a giant Rolling Stone magazine with a close-up of pop superstar Lady Gaga; the sky is clear and blue, apart from some thin, translucent morning clouds which will soon burn off; on the street in front of the construction lot, and all down the street, a snowbank of about three or four feet is remarkably uniform in shape and dirty with the glandular excretions of the asphalt street.

Quiet morning street scene in an important city underneath an elevated subway track; Due to freezing temperatures since the snowfall a week ago, there is still some dirty snow stacked up and snow on top of roofs; a couple of newer cars are parked under the tracks, where there is a station; there is a big red bank with its lighted sign on, but it is closed for the weekend; beside the bank, there is a very old brick triple-decker commercial building with many interesting signs on display - an apartment rentals office, a Colombian restaurant, a skin care clinic offering laser hair removal, and an old bodega called the "Stop n Go"; a thin patch of high clouds on a light blue sky is in the distance and it looks like it will be a nice sunny day, albeit very cold.
