Oh no, noodle arms today and I'm supposed to go in and open up for pottery.

A white handmade pottery cup swirled with dark black/brown, almost like woodgrain, with a light greenish turquoise transparent glaze on the rim.
A dark cat with a white bib and whiskers lies watchfully on a bed
I like this one. Plainsman M370 & coffee swirl, opulence sea spray, cone 5 with 12 min hold (the marbled clay bloats if it's higher)
Whiskeybearcat is upset I'm not resting enough. Even my watch gives red exclamation marks and says rest

A handmade pottery ramekin in brown and blue upside down on a brown and blue, tree-motif handmade pottery plate.
Mom asked for a baked good tonight. Made her a chocolate lava cake with my bounty of duck eggs with pottery I'd made. Didn't realize it was a flex until writing this.
So nice to have her do animal chores so I have the spoons to cook

Four very white, wet mug bodies without trimming or handles completed in a baluster or pear form, with a narrower foot, round belly, and narrower neck with varying levels of flared rims.
A page from a textbook with three line drawings of handled jugs and text which reads: Baluster Jug, defining characteristics, a jug with a sinuous profile where the rim, girth, and base are of roughly equal diameter, and the neck and body are narrower.
Working my way back up to 1kg since I haven't had a new proper sized mug in awhile. These mostly started as 12"+ish cylinders and are gently based on the medieval baluster or pear shape.
1kg plainsman M370

Several handmade pottery mugs of different shapes and colours of bisqued clay sitting upside down on craft paper, bottoms waxed, with neat pieces of paper with glaze names next to them.
Mugs of many shapes and sizes covered in different colours of raw glaze. Three mugs and the whole area are splattered with different glazes, apparently at random. No papers with glaze names are in evidence.

Glaze fugue state I start out with a plan, then things happen. These were supposed to be glaze tests.

A pottery bowl roughly 9" across. It's glazed with a turquoise that fades to yellow around the rim, and it's splattered with small irregular dots of green, yellow, and red and there is a line of pink swirled around the bottom of the wall.
I just think it's so cool I get to use these. I get to make what I think is beautiful, the right size and shape, and then use it to eat out of, every day.

Don't let anyone tell you the world is better without your fingerprints.
IMCO Night clay roughly 700g with handprint in m370 plainsman clay slip. Bisqued, unsure how I'm gonna glaze.

A few dozen mugs, tumblers, and jars in an array of bisqued clay colours including marbled, brown, black, buff, and white. There are many different shapes and one has a white slip handprint on darker clay. They're on a cheap plastic folding table.
A black cat loafs on a bed behind an open laptop in the warm spot where sheets were thrown back when the prior occupant left.
Two/three months of work bisqued. I had plans for the glazing when throwing them, dammit. The IMCO Night stuff is mostly for glaze tests at least.
Next kiln will have the new students work. Always a good time.

Several large round freshly thrown jars in grey clay, roughly 10 inches tall, and a couple mugs without handles put on yet.
Made a couple 600g warm-up mugs and some 1kg tea jars. Fully used up my core muscles and back in bed, but very worth it. I have maybe eight dozen eggs on every surface so I should be making pasta for the freezer, but hey.

Rows of curvy jars and mugs in very dark and very white clay bodies on a wire shelf, as yet unkilned.
A box full of packets of "mitsoh" brand dried meat and pop-open cans of dolmades.
Brought some pottery into the studio for the first time in months, and put together a more serious and permanent stuck in bed kit beside the bed. Whatever I do I'll still sometimes be stuck in bed for days. I accept that, and reserve the right to do it for my own reasons.

A paper with four shapes of pottery jugs drawn on it: baluster, barrel, biconical, and conical. It looks like it was photocopied from a textbook.
Four unfinished clay pots on a shelf: the first one i s right baluster shaped, the second is biconical, the third is barrel shaped, and the fourth roughly flares down to the foot but dips in at the very base. Below the shelf is a paper taped to the wall with those jug shapes on it.
Trying to reskill by using this jug shape chart to do a throwing exercise: basically just work my way down the list of shapes when I'm able. This way I can still throw even when I can't imagine a shape and I can work on regaining and improving my shaping.
All IMCO night clay 800g
