Panel Four was a challenge until near the end when living downtown was brought up. Without the families who live downtown, the downtown would certainly be dark after 5pm. #DowntownForum #OBOT
Our last #DowntownForum panel is designing our downtown for growth. This will be interesting.
Thinking of the 3rd Panel the topic that stuck a note to me was Ottawa’s 18-20 economy. Many great arguments Ottawa has a 24 hour economy with workers in transportation, delivery, healthcare and cleaners working overnight preparing for the next day. #DowntownForum #OBOT
The #DowntownForum is starting the 3rd Panel: Building a Vibrant Downtown: Arts,Culture, Nightlife and Public Spaces.
Panel is over, collaboration was the key word between enforcement, protection and services to keep streets and communities safe while supporting those in need. We’ll soon see Police on horses patroling the #bywardmarket. #DowntownForum
2nd Panel: Safety 1st: The foundation of a Thriving Downtown. I’m looking to hear about how we serve the vulnerable in the downtown core. #DowntownForum
Final comments from the 1st Panel and what our downtown looks like in 5-10 years? A physical and social connected downtown. Ottawa as an all-weather city.
#DowntownForum
Initial comments this morning; “the health of our downtown reflects the health of Ottawa”, “the downtown is the gateway to the success of the city”.
