Ah, sad news. We met once at the Barcelona Beer Conference in 2004, where he gave the keynote speech, and we occasionally corresponded over the years. He was a very friendly and a unique Professor. He put Ancient Ales on the worldwide archaeological agenda. No doubt about that.
