Otjiwarongo learner granted bail in drug dealing case The Grade 11 learner of a school at Otjiwarongo was on Monday afternoon granted bail of N$5 000 in a case of possession and or dealing in drugs. The accused, Daniel Ha-Eirob (22), was arrested last Friday at about 18h00 in the Orwetoveni residential area, where he was found in possession of three parcels of cannabis weighing approximately 756 grams, with an estimated street value of N$37 800. He appeared before Otjiwarongo magistrate Billy Lutaka who explained his legal rights to engage a private lawyer of his choice, defend himself in court, or apply to the Ministry of Justice and Labour for a legal aid lawyer. Ha-Eirob opted to defend himself in court. Public prosecutor Johannes Inongelwa did not oppose the accused’s request for bail. Ha-Eirob was instructed to return to court on 30 June.
