De cartoon gaat over het probleem van vapen onder jongeren. Bovenaan staat de tekst dat artsen alarm slaan en oproepen om de verkoop van vapes aan minderjarigen te stoppen en een “brandbrief” aan de politiek te tekenen. In het beeld blaast een jongen vape-rook door een opgerolde brief waarop “brandbrief” staat. Een meisje roept geschrokken: “De brandbrief gaat in rook op!”, wat letterlijk en figuurlijk wordt bedoeld: de oproep tegen vapen verdwijnt in de rook van het vapen zelf. Naast hen zegt een andere jongen met een smartphone: “Niet erg! Je kunt hem óók online ondertekenen!”, terwijl hij vrolijk verdergaat met zijn telefoon. De cartoon gebruikt ironie en woordspeling. Een brandbrief is een dringende waarschuwing, maar hier wordt hij letterlijk gebruikt om te vapen. Daarmee bekritiseert de tekenaar dat jongeren, de politiek en de samenleving het probleem niet serieus genoeg nemen.
