One of my favorite places to go in Florida popped up in my iPhotos memory today. #DryTortugasNP
Found a quiet spot on the beach to set up our spot for the day. Some shade, some sun, and only feet away from terrific snorkeling with no one else around. Sandy beach, clear blue sky, gorgeous turquoise water.
The National Park sign greets you as you come ashore at Fort Jefferson in Dry Tortugas National Park. The fort sits on 16 acres and is built from 16 million bricks!
Boat sitting in the sun, seen through the brick window of Fort Jefferson. A peek at the Yankee Freedom boat that brings day passengers and campers to Dry Tortugas just once per day. It’s a 2.25 hr ride from Key West, Fl.
I’m grateful to have visited Dry Tortugas NP this month. With approx 225 visitors per day, it’s the 8th least visited National Park. A fun day of exploring the fort and snorkeling #NatParkGeek #saveourparks #findjoy #protectpublicland #DryTortugasNP #FloridaKeys #KeyWest #GulfofMexico #nationalparks

Those are some beautiful south FL colors.
Born, raised and lived my entire life in FL but never been to #BiscayneNP or #DryTortugasNP. I know I’ve been in the Everglades but not sure I’ve been in the park so I don’t count #EVER as one of the 16 parks I’ve visited.
