I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised - I was saying to someone here the other day that they don't feel like they were written in the 1960's.
If you'd like to discuss them with other readers then use the hashtag #Dunnettcontent and they'll appear in the feed here of that name.
Is anyone else seeing a difference in what's displayed in the #Dunnettcontent feed between website and Android app?
For me, the latest posts on the website are the two by Donna Martina yesterday, but on Android those two aren't showing on 3 different devices. deck.blue and Skyefeed show them ok.
And plenty of knowledgeable people here should Wikipedia not have the answers.
Any mention of Dunnett here comes up in my #Dunnettcontent feed, and there's lots of background and commentary on my website at www.dorothydunnett.co.uk
If you do re-read you're welcome to join us.
Pawn In Frankincense, by Dorothy Dunnett.
That thousand-yard stare lasted for some time.

There's still plenty of us around and helping new readers discover her work. Here on Bluesky i have the #Dunnettcontent feed, there's my own dorothydunnett.co.uk website and the Dorothy Dunnett Society is flourishing.

So my mom is relinquishing the copy I gave her so now I have 2 travel copies.
Itโs all good. Dragon with a hoard.

#Dunnett or #Dunnettcontent will do fine, but the feed will also pick up any mention of Dunnett or Lymond so we'll see it.
Enjoy your reading, and if you feel like chatting about it or have any questions just use the #Dunnettcontent hashtag and there's plenty of us who'll be interested or will be happy to help. Just watch out for spoilers - maybe don't follow the feed until later.

If you know of any others please let me know.
They are magnificent. I spent the last two years reading them and loved them. Also I yelled a lot at the #dunnettcontent feed and demanded pet pictures when the going got emotional.
"...It was a French Christmas, a debonair Christmas full of frolic and folly; a spry Gallic unctuous Christmas. [...]The Government blew a sigh of relief, eyed the cut of the white satin and, flinging its armour out of the window, bawled for its valet. The Court danced. The Court played rough games and watched masques. Cardboard cumuli, joggling cautiously from ceiling to floor emitted Spirits of Love, giggling with siren voices half a tone sharp with nerves. Forty-two different kind of main dishes were offered at one sitting, and even the puddings burst asunder and became sweating cherubs from cardboard confinement and prone to emergency and fits of tears. ..." Haven't had a chance to explore it properly yet but it'll give you a better idea of some of the locations mentioned in LC a bit nearer the time period.

As promised last week I've now managed to restore all the posts and have given it a facelift too.
As most of you will know my server had a double disk drive failure earlier this year and I had to put the main site on /2
And on here we have the #Dunnettcontent feed which picks up most mentions.
Feel free to ask here if you need any assistance (here being the #Dunnettcontent feed).
While we're mostly steeped in the 15th and 16th C historical content, there's a number of us who may be able to offer context for the Dollys as well.
