Today in #LaborHistory 11/15/1936: 1,800 soldiers from anarchist #DuruttiColumn entered Madrid to fight #fascism. By Nov 18th, over half had been killed, or deserted because of hunger. #Durutti persuaded some to return to their positions, but was himself mortally wounded on November 20.
