Duston church is viewed from across the churchyard. There are trees in leaf on either side and the sky is heavy with grey clouds. The church is of ironstone, with different stages of construction evident in the different materials. The tower is central, square and quite slender. The chancel is of paler stone than the side aisle, which is more uniform in colour. The churchyard grass is verdant and there are an array of gravemarkers.
