ENGIE North America Partners with CBRE Investment Management to Acquire Large Portfolio of Battery Storage Projects
ENGIE North America and CBRE Investment Management have joined forces in a significant deal involving a portfolio of battery storage projects in Texas and California. The collaboration centers around a substantial 2.4 gigawatt portfolio, comprising 31 operational projects currently serving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and California Independent System Operator (CAISO) regions. This marks a major operating portfolio partnership for ENGIE in the United States, with ENGIE maintaining a controlling interest. ENGIE will continue to be responsible for the operation and management of these assets. Separately, in May 2025, ENGIE and NHOA Energy began construction on a 400 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system in Kallo, Beveren. NHOA Energy is leading the project's execution under a supply contract and long-term service agreement with ENGIE.
