💡 Quick EQ tip:
Before adding, try subtracting. Cut the frequencies you don't need before boosting what you want to hear. Your mix will sound cleaner and more focused.
Less is more in the studio. ✨

High-Pass Like a Pro
Tame, don’t eliminate, low end.
✅ High-pass vocals, guitars, pads
🎹 If the synth is the bass, treat it like one
Clean low end = powerful mixes

Now for EQ. Here’s my approach:
🎛️ Gentle cuts in the low mids (300–500 Hz)
🎛️ Presence boost around 7–10 kHz
🎛️ Soft high-pass filter
I rarely use aggressive curves—especially on organic instruments like vocals.

Kick EQ basics:
✅ Boost 60 Hz for weight
✅ Cut 100 Hz to make space for bass
✅ Scoop 350 Hz to kill boxiness
✅ Boost 2.5–7 kHz for click
✅ High-pass around 20 Hz
Clean, clear, punchy.

Frequency Spectrum
Scan the mix top to bottom.
Boxy mids? Harsh highs? Muddy lows?
Tame problem areas. Fix masking. Let each part breathe.
