Oktober macht das Statistische Bundesamt (Destatis) auf eine beachtliche Zahl aufmerksam: 747.000 Tonnen Elektro- und Elektronikaltgeräte wurden im Jahr 2023 in Deutschland recycelt – das entspricht 82,4 Prozent aller Geräte, die in Recyclingbetrieben gelandet sind. Insgesamt wurden 906.100 Tonnen Elektroschrott verarbeitet, 5.100 Tonnen mehr als im Vorjahr. Trotz des leichten Zuwachses bleibt das Gesamtaufkommen jedoch unter dem Rekordjahr 2020, als während der Pandemie noch über eine Million Tonnen gesammelt wurden – ein Rückgang um 12,6 Prozent.
