An Eastern garter snake coiled around in a bunch of dead leaves. The snake is facing left toward the bottom left of the photo. It curves around and up to the top of the photo and then curves around under itself and moves out of the photo toward the bottom right. The tail is out of the photo. The snake is mostly green but with several yellowish stripes all along its body and yellow under its head. It has a small black eye. At the top of the photo the markings of another snake can be seen, indicating that this is a nest of snakes.
