Radish seed pods are super underrated. Like peppery snap peas and very #easygrowing.

My vote for #easygrowing has got to be a bush green bean! The first food crop that made me feel successful and encouraged me to grow more.

They produce for the whole season, I’ve never seen any pests on them, you can eat fresh, pickle, and easily save seed for free plants the next year.

Pile of green beans harvested last year from our garden. These were from a bush bean variety and cooked fresh for a pasta dish.

A basket of snap peas we harvested from our garden last year. We almost always eat them raw as a snack or in a salad.

Elephant garlic, which isn’t technically a real garlic it is used the same, about the size of my fist. I grow a couple each year mostly for fun. The flavor is very mild if you prefer that. They do grow much larger though and can require more space.

My vote for #easygrowing is cherry tomatoes and green onions. Herbs are also easy...but can become invasive.

Same Swiss Chard from above after a week of constant frost, still going strong and producing even in the heart of PNW winter.

Tree onion - Wikipedia

Bonus #easygrowing plant similar in use to chives if you have garden space, Egyptian Walking Onions/Tree Onion.

These superheroes have stems like green onions. They grow tiny onions at the top, then fall over and replant themselves to make more onions. Magic. Low effort high reward.

Starting a thread to share #easygrowing food options for anyone looking to start gardening. Most suggestions are commonly available seeds/starts and can grow in something as simple as a bucket.

Today was plant care day, this is my beefsteak begonia, it is one of the easiest to grow and has nice dark green shiny leaves with deep red on the underside. It is one of my favorites. #beefsteakbegonia #plantcareday #easygrowing
