‘Sowre cherys’, according to one Tudor physician, were considered ‘cold and moist’ if eaten fresh, making them the ideal corrective food on a hot summer’s day. I tried these but decided it simply cannot be hot enough to enjoy these raw and turned them into ‘holsom’ jam instead. #eatingwiththetudors
