A composite image showing what the daytime sky might look like without atmospheric scattering. The Sun, at the scale of a full moon, is surrounded by the stars of Taurus and Gemini constellations, including open star cluster M35. The Sun's image is a composite of a solar filter image and solar corona images from a 1998 eclipse. This represents the Sun's northernmost position during the Summer Solstice.

A stunning view of four planets—Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and Saturn—aligned in the pre-dawn sky over the RFK (Triborough) Bridge in New York City. The planets are visible even from a city setting, showcasing their brilliance. This planetary alignment, resulting from their orbits within the ecliptic plane, continues through April and May, with Mercury joining in June.

Serene night sky over Lake Balaton, Hungary, showcasing Mars, Antares, the Moon, and Saturn near the ecliptic plane. A sailboat mast light adds a terrestrial element to this celestial gathering captured after sunset on September 28. The golden hues of sunset still linger on the southwestern horizon.

Stunning twilight view from Saylorville Lake, Iowa, showcasing the Moon, Venus, Mars, and Saturn aligned near the western horizon on April 23rd. The image also highlights the ecliptic plane, Earth's orbital path around the Sun. The Moon's eastward movement is noted, preceding the May 4th total lunar eclipse.
