Illustrator, lithographer, painter and woodblock artist Edward A. Wilson was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He moved with his family to Rotterdam, and then to Chicago, where he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and later with Howard Pyle. He settled in New York City and summered on Cape Cod enjoying a long and productive career. He illustrated more than seventy books, and is especially well known for his many commissions from the Limited Editions Club. In addition, Wilson also created numerous lithographs and woodcuts.
