Attempted to reverse engineer the enigmatic, charismatic substance QRV in honor of Edward Gorey's 101st birthday. I went with mostly brandy, some light rum & cocchi, cardamom, pear and little rosewater. Steeped overnight & shaken hard. Really good on angel food cake

He was a famous illustrator and an author. He did drawings for editions of Dracula, War of the Worlds and other classic stories.
He lived in an apartment in New York which by the time he died had 20,000 books and six cats!
