A stunning image of the Cone Nebula in Monoceros, showcasing its 7 light-year tall pillar of dust and gas where stars are born. Captured with 24 hours of exposure using a half-meter telescope in Chile, the image reveals the nebula's reddish glow from hydrogen gas and the surrounding stars. The massive star NGC 2264 IRS, off the top of the image, is likely sculpting the cone.
