🌏 Black-faced Bunting (Emberiza spodocephala) The Black-faced Bunting is a small bird with a striking grey-black head contrasting with a bright yellow belly in breeding males. It's a migratory bird, native to Asia, breeding across eastern Siberia, northern China, and Japan, and migrating to winter in Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. These buntings are often seen in small, mixed-species flocks. Their vocalizations are very short, metallic, high-pitched notes. No subspecies are generally recognised.
