New Englanders treat blizzards the way they treat most things.
Minimal drama. Maximum layers. Salt everything.

Land of walking out of the Little Caesers Pizza in red pajama pants and boat shoes with no socks.
Right behind the dude in shorts and a jean jacket with a tuc hat.

Gorgeous day for a #hike. A little chilly out but we clearly need a lot more snow. Everyone needs to up their snow dance moves! #embracethecold as I truly didn’t want to leave the couch this morning but glad I did.
Lovely foothills in Eldorado
Shorter #trailrun than we planned (muddy trail closure) but lovely out. It was cruel if @alpenhiker.bsky.social to pick something that started out straight up. Might be trying to kill me. #embracethecold.
Sunny hillside, greening up for spring
Business travel is not kind for #trailrun later. Legs were in concrete. Stunning weather this weekend. #embracethecold
Sunrise peaking through clouds over a lake.
Lovely #trailrun on a morning I didn’t really want to head out ( #embracethecold). Normal shuffling pace but that’s fine. Deer in the meadows and some interesting clouds.
Lovely morning to shuffle around outside. Snow on Friday left lovely Mountain views. #trailrun #embracethecold
Lovely to see a small herd of deer moving through the open space this morning. Spring! (Disclaimer: Colorado ). #trailrun #embracethecold
Cold and snowy Foothills in Colorado
Happy spring from Colorado!
Didn’t feel like moving today but made myself get out the door. #trailrun #embracethecold
Absolutely no energy this morning; gym wrecked my legs this week. Also Seattle-y weather forecast (turned out lovely). Glad I got out. I don’t like driving to run but the local trails have mud-closures #trailrun #embracethecold
I love Colorado weather. #embracethecold
Blue sky , mountain bike trail
Lovely albeit chilly morning for #mtb ride. I think that’s the first time I turned a pedal in … six months maybe? And it felt like that. #embracethecold
Pine trees on a sunny morning in the Front Range
Lovely morning for a #trailrun. Not much wind (that’s tomorrow) and the sun was just coming up.

Pine tree amid the fog
Rare cloudy day for a #trailrun. It snowed about 200 feet higher but just foggy down below. Broke out the backup Salomon trail vest for hydration.

Clouds over the Front Range in Colorado
Lovely day for a #trailrun. Felt decent which was surprising. As always I battled with myself - dress warmly at the start or adjust on the run. 90% of the time I find less is more so to speak. #embracethecold
View of the mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park
#skitour kind of day. Very warm and amazingly for Colorado, no wind. Good to get out and stretch our legs. RMNP rarely disappoints.
#embracethecold was a state of mind today.
Woke up to Feels Like -10F, waited until it warmed up to -6F. Super slow 4 miler. Learning that the cold makes it harder. The snow is tougher too as the footing is uneven. But wow was it gorgeous out there and I think I only saw one other person.

Sun beginning to set behind a snowy Front Range
Not a #trailrun but a good solid walk. A thing I love about Boulder is that even with new snow on the ground and the temp hovering around 5F (felt way colder for some reason) the sun can come out and shine and it's just lovely. #embracethecold
Snowy and windy photo of Brainard Lake
Lovely trail through snow covered pines
6 mile snowshoe trek today. First time at altitude in months and boy did I feel it. Not a #trailrun but good to #embracethecold. Been missing Brainard Lake.
I’d say #embracethecold but it was almost 60F out there. Gorgeous. Wonderful day for a #trailrun.
Mountains with the sun setting behind them. Snowy.
Should have worn spikes but it was still lovely to get out for a rare late afternoon #trailrun. Still blaming the snow for the pace, not my ancient and tired muscles :-) #embracethecold
Snow covered pine trees. Cold.
Really wild to have to break trail. Usually #boulder hard core people are out and take care of that.
Supper slow #trailrun but I blame the snow :-)
#embracethecold
My usual morning routine has 2 espressos. For some odd reason (snowing hard, 17F) today seems to be stalling and in need of a 3rd espresso.
Telling myself to #embracethecold and go lace ‘em up (and microspikes, very important)
Sunrise on snowy hills.
-1F heading out on a #trailrun today. Got lucky and layered just about right but the hands were still cold. #jogging #embracethecold
15:54 is slow but given the time off, cold sapping my legs, and the terrain, I’ll take it.
Every day that passes is one day closer to warmth. But might as well enjoy this while we have it. #embracethecold
My liquid is Super Cool today #shareyourweather #winterscience #embracethecold
Sunrise with lovely colors
I didn’t have a vicious cold on the training program but here we are. Not derailed, just delayed a bit. #embracethecold and even wore a neck gaiter (very Euro). #walking
Cold and rainy but still went #running. Felt slow and achy. Still did 4.2 mi at 13:57 pace.
#embracethecold today was heading out in the rain when I didn’t want to.
Woohoo!! Starting today we will get approx. 1 minute more sunlight everyday! #embracethecold #winter #shareyourweather
Chill day for a run. But windy but some lovely lenticular clouds over the Front Range.
4.47 mi at 13:47. All the power snatches this morning made themselves felt. #running #embracethecold
