Simple bankruptcy, in the US, chapter 7 or chapter 13, does not remove judgement liens, period. It’s extra paperwork & typically one must live in the home when filing to claim the homestead exemption, if available.

You are correct but the expense involved can be prohibitively expensive. I successfully removed $54k in medical debt liens but it cost $3000 to do Chap 7 because it was extra steps to remove the judgement liens.
