💡The Latent Link Between Wine Flavours & Market Value | An Interactive Map This interactive platform reflects a vision I developed as a food scientist and data analyst, connecting the latent patterns in aroma and flavor data to market value in wine. To achieve this, I integrated a rare combination of three elements: a semantic similarity model, an interactive UX, and a scalable framework. It's based on a semantic similarity model I designed, which features how tasting notes relate in meaning, not just wording. I led the work from concept to the final UX and data interpretation, and I used AI as a technical assistant to accelerate the HTML integration to bring the idea to life faster. 💡 The plot reveals the underlying structure in wine data, showing which combinations of sensory and structure traits are most commonly associated with a wine's market value, providing insight into "what makes a wine both desirable and premium-positioned". 🎯This is where the tool's practical business value becomes evident: — For all R&D team members to quickly grasp large correlated product data and to use as a guide for new product development and enhance decision-making. — For company's reference as a hub for consumer insights and market research e.g., to justify pricing. — For strategy making purposes as a central hub for consumer insights and competitor analysis The data at its current state is static, but the framework is scalable. It becomes much more powerful when more data dynamicaly pluggs into it. This is a prototype with potentials in food industry; not yet a finished product, so it may not fully capture the bigger picture at this stage. That said, this is not just limited to wine but can be used to translate and transfer to other domains 🌍.
