(The image is Mickey looking out the window of a submarine to see a giant squid leering at him in a sea of thinner) If you played Epic Mickey, you know about the Notilus that takes you from the ruins to Tomorrow City. Originally, we were gonna go all in with the 20,000 Leagues reference with an animatronic squid that hunts you down on your way there, with an underwater (or under-thinner) bossfight against it. Disney had all concept art of the idea destroyed when the idea was scrapped. If asked, the execs would say it was cut for time constraints. If you asked an average Disney employee, they’d say it was because Disney didn’t want people talking about that giant squid prop they left rotting underwater at their park for years. But if you asked a programmer at Junction Point, they’d tell you it was cut for different reasons. The squid’s AI was an anomaly, as it always knew where Mickey was and its tentacles would always reach for him after breaking through the submarine. Playtesting it became a Herculean test of might. The final straw was when the playtester beat the squid and reached Tomorrow City, only for its tentacle to reach out and grab Mickey once he set foot on land, pulling him back into the green depths.

I tried my hand at a gaming hoax, here's some misinformation about everyone's favorite terrifying Mickey Mouse game. With some submechaphobia thrown in there because I hate the sea and everything in it.

I didn't play #EpicMickey when it first released (my brother warned me of the controls at the time...and I was a punk ass teen anyways) but picked up Rebrushed a couple years ago.

It's cute, simple, and definitely a game I would've adored as a Disney loving kid.
