Finished reading #EraoftheEclipse! Fun read, nice foray into the #Starfinder universe.
Tyrcell's periodic expressions of regret have me in utter *agony* over what terrible fate is going to befall Melezheun/what terrible thing she'll do, and when. I don't *plan* to finish the book tonight... but not saying I *won't*.

For example, telling us early on that the Hellknights beat the heroes to the Lorespire complex trades a cheap, forgettable surprise for a more potent feeling of dread leading up to that sequence. And speaking of pervasive dread...

Last #EraOfTheEclipse post for tonight, promise: I really appreciate how, even in what's essentially a mystery story, the author makes a point of *NOT* trying to keep every plot twist under wraps till the last moment.

Prediction: the 'shrine' isn't in the Arcanamirium. It's the Lorespire itself. (Second guess is another site on the Lorespire campus)

Astrachios (who sucks) discusses taking advantage of galaxy-wide amnesia to seize the only sources of information, and “become the ultimate arbiters of truth…because there wouldn’t be any documentation to dispute us.” Astrachios really, *really* sucks.
Tyrcell is right—this Astrachios guy sucks.

...in the Lorespire district, complete with secret passages. Does our delightful Tyrcell become First Seeker Lanrah? Because what little we know about Lanrah is... not great. If that's Tyrcell, I hope it's not as bad as it's been hinted at.

Tyrcell is *obviously* an Envoy. Charming, snarky, natural leader. They have 'meddling do-gooder' energy, and hints of a less-than-aboveboard past. "Having a crew" feels right-- starship or heist? They're building up a home base...

Zo!: "I think I know who wrote that account...and...who they eventually *became* too."
I'm assuming that first part refers to Tyrcell... but "who they became"... I've got an unpleasant theory, and this one I'm comfortable sharing.

"They could break you in half!"
*drawing their pistol* "They have big muscles, but I have [S]mall [A]rms."
*groan*

Oh geez, just came up with a theory that I'm *sure* I'm right about, but I can't post even as speculation, because if I AM right, simply knowing it's a possibility makes the clues (many of them legit subtle) stand out way more.

Also I'm assuming this 'Golarion Madness' is also the cause for the other character who's displayed these symptoms thus far. It's yet to be outright confirmed, but... 'cmon, obvious theory is obvious.

Hmm... so looking where Golarion used to be seems to trigger violent agitation and mental instability... wonder why that could be? *cough*Rovagug*cough*

Also, it's too early in the book to be relevant yet, but I promise no spoilers--nothing here that I wouldn't mind knowing in advance myself. (I WILL be speculating, and can't promise I won't be scarily accurate, b/c I'm good at that. But I'll err on the side of caution).

Okay, Dae and Chk-Chk I was familiar enough with already. But I just discovered Tyrcell, android bartender (maybe? they think they are, but there's clearly more to them than that) with a very "snarky private eye" vibe to them, and they're amazing too. #Starfinder #EraOfTheEclipse
Finally getting around to reading the #Starfinder novel, #EraOfTheEclipse (not for lack of wanting--executive function is more fickle than Besmara for me) Three pages in and I'm blown away with how effortlessly author Tim Pratt weaves in the necessary exposition for newcomers to the setting.
This last week Thurston Hillman and Jenny Jarzabski hosted a livestream where they revealed some of the upcoming books for Starfinder 2E this year. Let’s take a look.
