I started using @espanso as my new text expander after unhappy experiences with (a)breevy. Anyone else there using it as well and wants to share best hacks/ matches?

I have copied my Espanso snippets to [Gists](gist.github.com/search?q=use...), organising organise them from my desktop using the [Lepton](hackjutsu.com/Lepton/) Gist manager, and taking advantage of versioning.

- `german-words` - English→German translations of over 300 commonly used words
- `date-offset` - a trigger to offset the current date by a number of days, weeks, months, or years
- `timezone-date` - get the date and time from any timezone

A new package, `form-list`, added to #Espanso Hub hub.espanso.org/form-list/v/.... It uses a CSV file (sample included) to present a list of named links and then pastes the chosen URL, but could easily be adapted to other lists.
It should work on all OSs, as long as Python is present.

Just switched to #espanso today, used atext before - very happy with it!

Grund: aText nutzt ein Freemium-Modell, ist proprietär und läuft nicht auf Linux. Espanso dagegen ist kostenfrei, #OpenSource und plattformübergreifend.
