Zoom sur un toit de cheminée, sur lequel se trouvent deux petits moineaux friquets. Le moineau le plus à gauche est en train de faire sa toilette en fouillant dans les plumes de son dos avec son bec. Le moineau le plus à droite est en train de bondir en direction de l'autre. La photo l'a capturé en l'air, les ailes fermées et le dos bien droit, on dirait qu'il lévite. L'ensemble est éclairé par les rayons dorés du soleil levant sur la gauche de l'image. Le ciel est clair, sans nuage, d'un bleu très clair tirant sur le jaune.

Un moineau friquet de trois-quarts face. Il se tient dans une coupelle en terre cuite contenant un peu d'eau. Il a gonflé les plumes de son ventre et bombe un peu le torse en tournant la tête dans la direction de l'objectif, ce qui lui donne l'air d'un Aldo Maccione à plumes. Derrière lui, on voit un pot de fleurs en terre cuite rectangulaire d'où dépassent quelques brins d'herbe verte. L'oiseau est éclairé par les rayons du soleil sur sa droite et son ombre est projetée dans la coupelle. L'ambiance est ensoleillée, colorée et contrastée.
