The abundance of RV related haemodynamic indices is both great and perplexing in the same time (I was watching a session on RV-PA coupling from #euroecho2024 earlier).
Are you aware of any study that has compared different RV echo-based metrics in relation to perioperative outcomes?
I am going through some of the presentations of the recent #Euroecho2024, and there was a case report similar to yours, with acute MR 2ndary to ruptured cord presenting as unilateral pulmonary oedema.
Imaging for alcohol septal ablation and septal myectomy in oHCM.
ASA favourable:
- suitable septal artery targets
- addressing SAM contact area (usually basal septum)
- absence of septal hypertrophy extending to mid LV level

So, Luigi Badano just spoke about measuring RV function at #EuroEcho2024.
He said that RVEF and stroke volume are the best parameters, BUT:
- the softwares still have limitations
- the values need to be interpreted in the context of existing TR and compared to thr LV ones.
