Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet undergoes weapons testing with the StormBreaker
Aviation News – The U.S. Navy has officially declared initial operational capability (IOC) for the Small Diameter Bomb II (SDB II) on the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, significantly boosting the fleet's precision-strike reach. This milestone ensures that naval aviators can now deploy the advanced smart bomb to eliminate high-priority targets in the most challenging combat environments. Commonly referred to as the StormBreaker, the weapon underwent rigorous testing before reaching this status, including a critical early operational capability phase in 2025.
