I am culturally, intellectually & imaginatively #EuropeanFirst, British second, & refuse to be broken into smaller parts.

But I wish ppl wd not use the "small island" phrase. The main island of Britain isn't "small", & has quite a large pop.
My Dad came from a "small island", abt 15 miles long.
