Hubble Space Telescope image of evaporating dark molecular clouds in the Carina Nebula. Energetic light and stellar winds are breaking apart these dust clouds, which ironically often birth the very stars that destroy them. The structures shown span a few light-months, within the larger Carina Nebula (30 light-years across), located 7,500 light-years from Earth in the constellation Carina.
