29 June 2025: Two #wildfires broke out near Orhanlı and came close to merging - but didn’t.
👉 Merging fire fronts can create #extreme, unpredictable fire behavior.
Even without merging, these fires showed #ExtremeWildfire traits: rapid spread & spotting
🔥 NERO Fire Brief – Sakarya, Taraklı 🇹🇷
Nearly 150 wildfires hit Türkiye in June 2025. The Taraklı fire showed #ExtremeWildfire behavior: ~37 ha burned in 1.5 hrs, pyroconvection & wind-driven spread.
