FAIR Digital Objects Forum The FAIR Digital Objects (FDO) Forum is a new international initiative whose aim is to stimulate the development and implementation of FAIR Digital Objects worldwide. What are FAIR Digital Objects you may ask and what are they good for? Well, in a nutshell, they're digital representations of domain objects that are equipped with the conceptual and technological framework that enables object data within and between all domains to be seamlessly integrated and perpetually linked, ensuring their findability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability (FAIR) for both humans and machines. More specifically, a FAIR digital object consists of a persistent identifier (PID) and its metadata enabling machine actionability. The scientific and social implications of their widespread adoption are enormous.
