Honestly, it says a lot about SE that in 2026, the community is still having to just make the things they want for #FFXI.
That said, I can't imagine SE would give a license to a group of random players- nor would they likely be able to afford it.
Kadokawa needs to raise their hand or something.

All this said- I hope LOGOS sells well, I hope the #FFXIV Encyclopaedia's continue to sell well, because it's insane to me they would publish a book for a game that came out a couple years ago, but not one that's been active for over 20 years.
You can count the amount of #FFXI EN books on one hand.

FFXI's Yoji Fujito talking with Gamer Escape about preserving the game and the possibility of a lore book: On a side note, itโd be great if we could publish something like a collection of scripts and stories, as youโve suggested. But at the moment, we have our hands full with making FFXI easier to maintain while also making improvements to the game. By chance, would anyone out there be interested in licensing a collection of scripts, perhaps even a compilation of story cutscenes too? (laughs)
I asked #FFXI's Fujito about this last year, their (small afaik) team is too busy with the game itself, but they're open to the idea of liscensing something out!

I really, really wish @square-enix-games.com @square-enix-books.com would make us an English version of the Vana'diel Tribune Chronicles, or even a new compiled lore book for #FFXI. The game definitely deserves it.
