There is something satisfying about this somewhat complicated task of adding a fly front to a pull-up or side zip pants patterns.
Still working on dart placement to take in the upper slack though have confidence I will be there soon.

Progress. Front pockets in and looking good. Used remnants from a top I made in 2018. Sides fully flowered though not pressed. If more to be added, need to do so prior to sides sewn.

Wore 'John n Andy' to a doc appt after a stressful few calls from CHF Center. There are days when one needs to gird up to face bad news, this jacket my armor.
Wearing it changes my perspective. No one told me how fun sewing could be... perhaps I discovered that on my own.

Next project is on the table...
Giving 'Kite' another run. This pair from a failed project - the Mizono dress. I'd chosen the wrong size and saw no way to recover.
So I'm choosing to grow flowers in the 'patch' if all goes as planned, a clear vision in mind.

So happy with the fly process used on this once elastic style. My only regret was reducing the pattern prior to trying it on, they're a bit tight.
With CHF, water bloat is an issue. Holiday treats too! May need to apply a creative fix... or a creative diet. 😂

I chose a refresh on two older jackets - one purchased some 20 years back from a resale shop, the other a bit older RTW.
The refresh? New buttons and what a difference it makes.

Took my holiday top for a brief outing yesterday and felt like it was missing a personal touch.
I solved it with a bit of selvedge edge, scrap from the binding and a lot of patience.
Tag complete, including the 'dangler. One of these days I'll torture you with selfies. 😁

Muffed the wrap up a bit on peplum-to-garment though not enough to care. Tried the 'Asian' method - works well had I cut a wider strip + ironed the fold.
Time to try on top, 'drop on' with no zip nor button slash at the neckline. Hope it fits over my Holiday poundage. 🫣🤣

Shirt images on, French side seams sewn and...the top layer is NOT going to be cropped.
LOVE the way the light hits the silver images, changing as the garment moves. Makes the birds seem as if they are flying.
