I want to use the penalty incident in #FULARS to talk about "clear and obvious error".
In this game, as in #NEWARS, the on-field decision was penalty but VAR decided otherwise, even going to extreme length to convince the referee, as England did with Gillett (bsky.app/profile/pgmo...).

[9/9] Now, imagine the game had stopped, denying a goal opportunity off an unsporting behaviour (as in #FULARS)... Can't blame a ref for being cautious.
I'm sure he would have stopped the game a couple of seconds later, as Taylor did, but then United scored.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
[4/9] The previous day, in #FULARS, it took 11 seconds for Taylor to decide to stop the game for a potential head injury, which is more than what Oliver had.
Similar to this case, it was Jimenez who hit his teammate. But that turned out to be an unsporting delay.
So, was Oliver in doubt?
