I actually think his point subtextually is the opposite. He's the hot tall guy that girls liked in a dumb movie that romanticized abusive behavior or a TV show that had one good season before falling off the rails or a movie that's already mostly remembered for a gimmick. The people who love him aren't people moved by his performances. They thought he was hot in that one thing they vaguely remember.
