An old 2 story brick building with a sign I think for an old drug store - Coca Cola sponsored sign saying 'Prescriptions, Toys, Candies'. it's covered in Ivy on the side wall. there's a Subaru Grand Wagon (notorious for head gaskets blowing) parked up. I've used my 'Fake Aerochrome' filter here, which mimics the famous Kodak film stock that processed InfraRed light from the chloroform from the green in trees as shades of red!

& it wouldn't be Madison 'Subaru Capitol of the US' Wisconsin without a fake Aerochrome pic of some cool advertising & ivy all over the wall without a Subaru in the frame.

In essence, the false-colour effect is achieved through a colour shift; as opposed to a normal colour positive film, Kodak Aerochrome film is referred to as a false-colour infrared sensitive film because the film foregoes a standard blue sensitive layer, and replaces it with an infrared sensitive layer.

A close up square format image of the bridge across the reflecting pond at the wintery, with all the green colours illuminated in 'infrared' pinks & reds.

a 'fake Aerochrome' picture of a quaint English-esque scene with trees surrounding a small lake in a public garden, with model boats racing around, AND EVERYTHING IS PINK! Aerochrome was a film stock developed by Kodak & the US military to help pic out natural InfraRed from plants to determine what was German cammo & what was real foliage. The film stock was discontinued a few years back, but some expire rolls of film still exist & some analogue film photographers absolutely love it. I still don't know if I do, or don't, but the effect is dramatic.

Speaking of green & 'not to everyone's taste', here's a #FakeAerochrome banger I took over the weekend in ChCh.

According to International Cloud Atlas, Asperitas are defined as

Well-defined, wave-like structures in the underside of the cloud; more chaotic and with less horizontal organization than the variety undulatus. Asperitas is characterized by localized waves in the cloud base, either smooth or dappled with smaller features, sometimes descending into sharp points as if viewing a roughened sea surface from below. Varying illumination levels and cloud thickness can lead to dramatic visual effects. Occurs mostly with Stratocumulus and Altocumulus

These are rare in NZ, but Canty Plains are the place to see them as they form over plains, often seen above the central plains in the US.

#FakeAerochrome (no I'm not paying hundreds of USD for expired film stock, I'm not GrainyDays) makes the world happier, kinda like a Dr Seuss world.
