A square portrait of the famous actor Katherine Hepburn from 1982 has a timeless painterly quality of it. Suggesting an urgency to the portrait even though Ms Hepburn is sitting contemplatively looking into the distance. Reminiscent of a 'Hopper like' style from the mid century.

I just bloody adored this portrait

One of the many waterfalls in the FDR memorial park

There are many water features, all with their own meaning. There’s the water feature comprised of one large drop, which depicts the crash of the economy that led to the Great Depression; multiple stair-like drops pay homage to the Tennessee Valley Authority dam-building project; there are chaotic falls at varying angles signifying World War II; and a still pool for Roosevelt's death.

The Jasper Johns US Flag without anyone in front

Flag is an encaustic painting by the American artist Jasper Johns. It was created in 1954-1955, when Johns was 24, two years after he was discharged from the U.S. Army. This painting was the first of many works that Johns made, as he said, that were inspired by a dream of the U.S. flag in 1954. It is one of the paintings for which Johns is best known. It is held in the Museum of Modern Art, in New York.

Detail of Flag (1954–55). Museum of Modern Art, New York. This image illustrates Johns's early technique of painting with thick, dripping encaustic over a collage made from found materials such as newspaper. This rough method of construction is rarely visible in photographic reproductions of his work.

Johns was only 24 when he did this encaustic painting of the US Flag. The encaustic technique allows for a translucent effect & demands you inspect it closer, which then reveals the mixed media with newspaper collage.

Just adore his work

Some of the curved organic shapes & lines of the various stairs in the Eero Saarinen designed TWA Hotel

TWA Hotel is a hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York City, that opened on May 15, 2019.[3] It uses the head house of the TWA Flight Center, designed by the architect Eero Saarinen and completed in 1962, and two flanking buildings added for the hotel project. It contains a total of 512 rooms, as well as conference space, several restaurants, and an aviation history museum.

TWA Hotel was developed as part of a project to reuse the head house, which had stopped functioning as an air terminal in 2001. The site was developed by MCR Hotels, the third largest hotel owner in the United States. It is the only hotel operating within the boundaries of JFK Airport

An old 2 story brick building with a sign I think for an old drug store - Coca Cola sponsored sign saying 'Prescriptions, Toys, Candies'. it's covered in Ivy on the side wall. there's a Subaru Grand Wagon (notorious for head gaskets blowing) parked up. I've used my 'Fake Aerochrome' filter here, which mimics the famous Kodak film stock that processed InfraRed light from the chloroform from the green in trees as shades of red!

Multiverse is one of Villareal’s largest and most complex light sculptures. It is experienced by visitors as they pass through the Concourse walkway between the East and West Buildings. The work features approximately 41,000 computer-programmed LED (light-emitting diode) nodes that run through existing channels along the 200-foot-long space. The programming both instructs the lights and allows for an element of chance, so that it is very unlikely that any pattern will repeat during a viewer's experience. Development of this project began in 2005, and installation took place between September and December 2008.
