James founded Families Against Violence in March 2011, to combat the gang and gun culture in the Greater Manchester community, which has gone on to grow into a force for positive change, officially becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in March 2016. With the mission is to create a safer community by using a comprehensive preventative and early intervention model, bringing young people together to foster social inclusion, build self-esteem, raise aspirations, and encourage responsible decision-making.
